Oct 13 - Marian Procession to Pray for Peace

On Wednesday, October 13th, the three parishes in Chicago in the grouping known as “Our Lady’s Triangle” are hosting a 1.5 mile candlelight procession on the anniversary of the Final Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.

Fr. Anthony Buś, C.R., Fr. Andrzej Totzke, S.Chr., Fr. Joshua Caswell, S.J.C., the pastors of St. Stanislaus Kostka, Holy Trinity, and St. John Cantius parishes are collaborating in a major Marian procession that will see members of the Chicago Police, Chicago Fire Department, medical personnel, various parish groups, clergy, and religious, coming together to pray for peace in the city of Chicago. All in the Chicago area are welcome to participate.

The evening begins with Mass at St. John Cantius (825 N Carpenter) at 6:00 pm. After Mass, the procession will form and after making a stop at Holy Trinity will conclude at St. Stanislaus Kostka at 8:00 pm.

During the procession, the Rosary will be prayed in English, Spanish, and Polish as the procession moves along its 1.5 mile route along N. Milwaukee Avenue to Noble Street and crosses W. Division St.

“We need healing for our City of Chicago amid so much violence and turmoil,” said Fr. Joshua Caswell, SJC, “and by taking Our Lady onto our streets we are signaling that we need heaven’s help.”

In 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima bringing a message of conversion, peace, and hope. Learn more about the Fatima Story here.

Candles will be provided free of charge for all attendees. Safety personnel will be on-site for any needs. Trolleys will be available for those needing a ride back to St. John Cantius.

6:00 pm - Mass at St. John Cantius Church (825 N Carpenter)
7:00 pm - Procession forms on Carpenter Street
7:30 pm - Procession enters Holy Trinity Church (1118 N Noble)
8:00 pm - Benediction at St. Stanislaus Church (1327 N Noble)
